Former CIA Deputy Director Joins EMC's Board of Directors By Wolfgang Gruener August 14, 2012 12:50 AM Tags : Storage Storage Management Cloud Computing Government Security Style Big Data Tom's Hardware American EMC Jami Miscik has joined storage vendor EMC on the company's board of directors. Previously, Miscik was the former Deputy Director of Intelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The storage vendor hopes that Miscik's experience in international and government affairs, as well as knowledge in risk analysis and geopolitics will help the company navigate its efforts in cloud computing, big data and services. “We are delighted to welcome Jami Miscik to the EMC Board," said EMC CEO and chairman Joe Tucci. "Her strategic guidance on these and many other critical matters will serve EMC and its shareholders well as we capitalize on the extraordinary transformation in the IT industry." Miscik's previous experience includes roles at Kissinger Associates, Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers besides the CIA, where she was employed from 1983 to 2005. She is currently is a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, a Director on the Council of Foreign Relations, Vice-Chairman of The American Ditchley Foundation, and a Trustee of In-Q-Tel.
