KEMP Technologies said on Wednesday that it has teamed up with Dell to develop the LoadMaster R320, a purpose-built, hardware load balancing and application delivery controller. It will be based on the high performance variant of the Dell PowerEdge R320 platform, the company said.
"We are extremely excited to partner with Dell and leverage their global distribution and logistics capabilities. KEMP will leverage Dell's high-quality global field service and depot capabilities to provide our customers enhanced response time, and service and support globally," said Peter Melerud, EVP of Product Management at KEMP Technologies.
Application delivery controllers are critical for medium to large enterprises, as they assure the high availability and reliability of web-based business-critical applications. KEMP said its new LoadMaster R320 is designed to deliver on those requirements by using the latest advancements in Layer 4 and 7 load balancing, content switching, SSL acceleration, Layer 7 content switching, caching, compression, IPS, IP and Layer 7 persistence.
"All KEMP's load balancers are optimized for Microsoft Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, RDS and Dynamics," the company said. "The LoadMaster R320 will also be optimized for other enterprise workloads from Oracle, Citrix, IBM and others."
In addition to the upcoming LoadMaster R320, all of KEMP's LoadMaster family of products, listed here, include Layers 4-7 load balancing, content switching, server persistence, SSL offload/acceleration, and application front-end capabilities (caching, compression, intrusion prevention system), plus one full year of product support.
"KEMP’s LoadMaster family of affordable, yet feature-rich application delivery controllers and server load balancer appliances automatically and intelligently manage user traffic and applications, to deliver website integrity for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMB) and managed service providers," the company states on its Web site.
The LoadMaster R320 will be available in early Q1 2013 through Dell, and KEMP partners. For those visiting the Dell World 2012 tradeshow taking place on December 11 – 13 in Austin, Texas, the company will be set up in booth #4E1.
