9. Bandwidth

In computing, bandwidth often refers to the rate of data transfer, but in business it often refers to the amount of resources necessary to complete a task or project.

Significance

IT staff craving more bandwidth for their systems may do well to remember that management must often weigh "bandwidth" conditions across several departments. The need for more server bandwidth may exceed the "bandwidth" of the company's budget or even the time "bandwidth" of other staff to deal with the power utility to bring in higher-energy systems to meet that IT request.
