Datameer Announced Datameer Professional, the first ever Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) big data analytics and visualization platform created specifically for Hadoop-as-a-Service (HaaS). Datameer Professional allows an organization's individual departments to integrate, prepare, analyze and visualize their data without requiring dedicated IT resources.

"Datameer Professional is the accelerant the market has needed for individual departments within an organization to stop talking about the benefits of big data and Hadoop and start realizing them immediately," said Stefan Groschupf, CEO of Datameer. "Now companies that want to gain a competitive advantage with big data analytics right away can simply purchase Datameer Professional running on a HaaS offering and discover actionable insights in hours or days, not months. We believe that this will catapult Hadoop adoption as businesses discover shared success between departments and discover new use cases, encouraging the entire company to become data-driven."

With Datameer Professional, Datameer has partnered with Altiscale in North America as well as EMEA-based Bigstep. The Altiscale Data Cloud offers high performance and scalability, while Bigstep's Full Metal cloud is billed as the word's highest-performance big data cloud.

Implementation of a high performance, big data analytics environment can be costly and challenging. Datameer Professional offers departmental access to data regardless of size, all within a fully managed hosted SaaS, requiring no DevOps or cloud administration. Datameer Professional thus allows businesses to kickstart their data analytics initiatives quickly, and at low cost.

Datameer is a self-service big data application offering more than 70 built-in data connectors capable of importing a variety of structured and unstructured data including machine data, web, mobile, CRM, demographic and transactional data. Datameer allows users to prepare data visually, facilitating the identification and correction of anomalies early in the data preparation process.

For analysis, Datameer includes over 270 pre-built analytic functions allowing end users to access insights hidden in their data. Datameer's visualization features include an extensive library of tables, graphs, charts, diagrams, maps and tag clouds. With Datameer, users can also create infographics and interactive dashboards.

Datameer Professional will be available in Q1 2015.
