Firefox Focus Browser Blocks Ads on Phones

By - Source: Toms IT Pro

Everyone seems to be on a mission to help block annoying ads from appearing on your devices. Chrome's adding an ad blocker feature to Chrome. Apple's adding the feature to Safari. There are tons of third-party add-ons you can download to help block ads. Mozilla is also in on the trend, but instead of adding it to Firefox, it made a whole new mobile browser called Firefox Focus.

Firefox Focus is available for Android and iPhones, and doesn't just block ads. It specifically blocks ads that track a user's online activity. That means, just because you once searched for a green dress on Amazon, you won't start seeing ads for green dresses on every other site you visit. You can also erase your browsing history with one tap, and the app will remind you to do so. Aesthetically, Focus also removes tabs, shares and other menus (no bookmarks) for a more streamlined look and feel.

The Android version offers a couple extra features not yet available on iOS. In that version, an ad tracker counter will show you how many ads Focus has prevented from loading. But the real winner with this browser is privacy, allowing users to go off the grid, sort of speak.
