Fujitsu America Adds 3 New Semi-Rugged Notebooks

This week Fujitsu America updated its LIFEBOOK E-Series professional line of semi-rugged notebooks with three new models: the 15.6-inch LIFEBOOK E754, the 14-inch LIFEBOOK E744 and the 13.3-inch E734. These laptops feature the latest 4th-generation Intel Core vPro processor and Windows 7 Professional.

"The LIFEBOOK E line enables maximum mobile productivity," states the company's press release. "In addition, Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E line Notebooks offer optimal usability in a variety of work environments, equipped with an anti-glare display, large touchpad, battery life of up to 21 hours and optional backlit keyboard."

The default configuration of the E754 has a starting price of $999. This includes Intel's Core i5-4300M processor (3 MB, up to 3.3 GHz), 2 GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, a 320 GB hard drive, and Wireless N and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Other features include a DVD writer, a 6-cell 63Wh lithium ion battery, a spill-resistant keyboard, and a 15.6-inch LED-lit anti-glare screen with a 1366 x 768 resolution.

Next we have the E744 notebook with a starting price of $1,029. The default configuration includes the same ingredients found on the E754 save for the screen, which is a 14-inch anti-glare LED-lit HD+ display. The default configuration of the E734 is also the same, only its screen is a 13.3-inch anti-glare HD display. The starting price for this model is $1,099.

"Designed with comprehensive security features, including a Smart Card reader, fingerprint sensor, TCG OPAL compliant self-encrypted drive (SED) and trusted platform module (TPM), the LIFEBOOK E line ensures maximum protection of enterprise data, as well as data stored within the device itself," states the company's press release. "User privacy is also incorporated into the design with each notebook having a full HD webcam equipped with a status LED that indicates when it's in use."

Some of the options customers can choose from include an Intel Core i7-4600M processor (3 MB, up to 3.6 GHz), a Blu-ray writer, up to 16 GB of DDR3-1600 memory, up to a 512 GB SSD, a 4G LTE broadband module, and AT&T DataConnect ready with GPS. Customers can also option for dual-band Wireless N connectivity, a High-capacity battery (6-cell, 72Wh) and Modular bay Lithium ion battery (6-cell, 28Wh), a fingerprint sensor and more. Customers can even choose to have Windows 8.1 installed.

According to the company, these three notebooks are manufactured with a high-end magnesium alloy. They also have a semi-rugged, durable and easy-to-maintain build that offers protection from bumps and drops common during normal use and travel.
