Global Payments, March - Major Security Breaches



Global Payments, a credit card processor, has been temporarily blacklisted by some credit card companies because it obviously no longer meets security standards: in March hackers accessed 7 million consumer records from the company’s North American processing system, which included 1.5 million credit card numbers (all major credit card brands were affected). Global Payments has not disclosed details about what type of vulnerability allowed hackers access to the data.
