If you sleep easily at night knowing that you support the work accomplished by your enterprise, then “hacktivism” is something you probably don’t have to worry about. But IT execs at biotech giant Monsanto have been on high alert since last year when hacker group Anonymous subsidiary AntiSec began its attacks. The attacks continued this year in March when the hackers posted a database of corporate material online. “Your continued attack on the world’s food supply, as well as the health of those who eat it, has earned you our full attention,” the hackers explained in a post that also said that it would continue targeting Monsanto. Last year the hackers released data about 2,500 employees in the biotech industry.
