Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched an all SSD configuration that aims to address application performance concerns within organizations. The HP 3PAR Storage supports, depending on the model, up to 512 SSDs per array and 128 SSDs per controller node.

The system is available in a V400 model with two or four controller nodes, while the V800 is sold with two, four, six or eight nodes. The V400 uses four to eight quad-core 2.83 GHz management processors, while the V800 can integrate up to 16 quad-core CPUs. Total available cache ranges from 96 to 768 GB. The manufacturer is offering individual SSD capacities of 100 and 200 GB. Customers can also opt to combine the SSD configuration with fibre channel HDDs up to 600 GB capacity.

The total raw capacity of V400 systems that are fully stacked with 200 GB SSDs is between 4.84 and 800 TB. The V800's capacity climbs to a maximum of 1.6 PB.

The 3PAR Storage is available now. Pricing starts at $350,000.
