Beyond the Top 5: More Vendor-specific Storage Certs

Beyond the Top 5 items mentioned in this article, there are lots of other certification programs that can help to further the careers and professional development of IT professionals who work in the networked storage arena.

In particular, credentials from Red Hat (Certified Data Center Specialist, or RHCDS), Hitachi Data Systems or HDS (Certified Storage Manager), and IBM (at least half-a-dozen storage related credentials appear on their IBM Storage Certifications page).

And if you look around at GoCertify.com (using the Certification Finder to search on Storage by Technology Area), you’ll find a total of 30 storage-related credentials listed there. The 24 I didn’t mention here go beyond the 5 in this “Top 5” list and the CompTIA Storage+. Many of these credentials come from the same sponsors as the items mentioned in this article, particularly Brocade, HDS, SNIA, and EMC. Only Veritas, HP, and Isilon fall outside sponsors already mentioned.
