Microsoft Lowers Price for Office 365 By Douglas Perry March 16, 2012 1:45 PM Tags : Collaboration Cloud Computing Office 365 Microsoft Office Exchange Spam Excel Antivirus Powerpoint Cases Email Microsoft just dropped the prices for three of its Office 365 tiers. The Redmond-based company introduced price cuts for Office 365. Now, price cuts are never a bad thing but, in this case, some features are being trimmed along with the price reductions. As a result, you may want to have a close look at what you are buying, as Microsoft appears to be shifting users of lower-end services to more expensive tiers. For example, Email alone is now priced at $4 per month, instead of $5 before. However, anti-spam and anti-virus filtering has been removed as a service from Exchange Online. The small business plan P1 remains at $6 per month, while the midsize E1 plan is dropping from $10 to $8 per seat per month. Both plans enable users to only view Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote files, but not edit them online. The most expensive E3 plan with all features is now priced at $20, down from $24, and comes with a subscription to Office Professional Plus 2010. An overview of all features can be found on Microsoft's Web site. Comment on this article ... Comment(s)| Comments
