According to Seagate, Nor-Tech will be using Pulsar.2 SSDs for its Lustre Cluster storage system, which scales to "thousands of nodes and petabytes of storage." The company also noted that Nor-Tech recently adopted Seagate SSDs for its VoyStor storage server and a solution that covered 2,300 compute cores to support 2,300 clients over a 40GB/s InfiniBand connection at the University of Minnesota, which uses the system as part of its hydropower and wind energy research efforts. “We believe that our SSD technology is a big part of creating new, powerful ways to support mission critical applications in HPC,” said Bob Griswold, senior vice president of Seagate Product Line Management, in a prepared statement. “Seagate has a heritage in delivering high performance, reliable storage solutions and we’re proud to team with Nor-Tech to help its customers advance computing possibilities.” Seagate currently offers Pulsar.2 MLC SSDs incapacitiesof 100 GB, 200 GB, 400 GB, and 800 GB with SAS and SATA 6 Gb/s interfaces.
