Tyan demonstrates several new cutting edge server motherboards and barebones systems designed for high performance computing.

At this week’s GTC 2013 conference, Tyan is showcasing a number of high efficiency GPU platforms including the S7055 and S7056 motherboards and TA77-B7061, FT48-B7055 and FT77-B7059 server backbones. The featured server backbones systems are fully compatible with NVIDIA Tesla K series GPU accelerators offering cutting edge performance, efficiency and flexibility.

All three server barebones units support Intel’s Xeon E5-2600 series processors; Tyan TA77-B7061 barebones server is a 2U rackmount, while the FT48-B7055 and FT77-B7059 are 4U rackmounts. The TA77-B7061 system utilizes Tyan’s S7055GM3NR-B motherboard, two GbE ports, one PCI-E Gen3 x8 and four x16 slots. The unit, released just last month, is compatible with 1 to 4 GPUs. The FT48-B7055 features the S7055GM3NR-B motherboard, three GbE ports, four PCI-E Gen3 x16 and two Gen 2 x8 slots. The FT77-B7059 unit utilizes the S7059GM2NR motherboard, two GbE ports, eight PCI-E Gen3 x16 and two PCI-E Gen3 x8 slots. The two server barebones systems are also new additions to the Intel Xeon E5-2600 family of products designed for peak performance.

Tyan's S7055 and S7056motherboards support Intel Xeon E5-2600 series processors and are compatible with 4 and 2 GPUs respectively. The S7055 motherboard features DDR3 DIMM slots, three GbE ports, and five PCI-E Gen3 x8 and x16 slots. The S7056 model has more DDR3 DIMM slots, but only two GbE ports plus one dedicated for IPMI (intelligent platform management interface) as well as two PCI-E slots.

NVIDIA’s annual GPU Technology Conference is happening at the San Jose McEnry Convention center in San Jose, California. Tyan’s new GPU platforms will be bundled with NVIDIA’s Tesla K series and made available in Q2 2013.
