Financial details were not disclosed. Xsigo enables customers to use multiple Ethernet and Fibre Channel connections to servers, networks and storage through a single cable. The company claims that it offers the industry's fastest fabric with up to 112 Gbps of bandwidth per server at less than half the cost of traditional solutions.. In addition to the technology, which adds a virtualization puzzle piece to Oracle's portfolio, Xsigo will also bring several enterprise customers such as British Telecom, eBay, Softbank and Verizon to the company. Oracle said that it will combine Xsigo's network virtualization technology with its own Oracle VM server virtualization to be able to provide a complete set of virtualization capabilities for cloud environments.
