Acer Announces Intel Xeon E3/E5 Servers

Acer is testing its opportunities in the server market with Xeon E3- and E5-based tower and rack servers.

The systems, targeted at SMB and enterprise customers in the U.S., Acer states that the E5 models are up to 80 percent faster than previous models. Both the rackmount and tower servers are available in single-socket and dual-socket versions. The rackmount models are sold in 1U and 2U form factors.

All 3-series servers come standard with a setup routine for automated server installation, remote control software, a monitoring tool for up to 250 servers as well as an optional feature to cap power consumption.Acer is testing its opportunities in the server market with Xeon E3- and E5-based tower and rack servers.

All models will be available through Acer's reseller network. Pricing has not been announced.
