Fluke Networks Increases BYOD Device Visibility on Wi-Fi NetworksFluke Networks has included a new BYOD Classification in two of its AirMagnet product
This month, Fluke Networks revealed a new over-the-air patent pending smart device with detection and analysis capabilityaimed to help reduce the cost and time associated with optimizing and securing a wireless network for authorized and unauthorized mobile devices.
Available now in AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer PRO (10.5) and AirMagnet Enterprise (10.6), Fluke Networks said its new BYOD classification provides an improved level of visibility into smart device type, operating system and usage details. Even more, network administrators don't need to deploy end-user software agents to detect personal device information.
"Today's wireless engineer is only as good as the information he or she can get about the network and its activity. The new capability in AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer PRO and AirMagnet Enterprise instantly gives them the intelligence needed to optimize the network for smart device usage or take action against possible smart device threats," said Chia-Chee Kuan, vice president and general manager of the Fluke Networks WLAN business unit.
AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer is a tool for mobile auditing and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi networks. It helps IT staff quickly solve end-user issues while automatically detecting security threats and wireless network vulnerabilities. Features include real-time remote troubleshooting, means to instantly troubleshoot BYOD induced security and performance issues, independent ROI analysis of WLAN Infrastructure options, and more.
Fluke Networks describes AirMagnet Enterprise as a centralized system that proactively protects WiFi networks and users from all types of threats. It also ensures maximum network performance and uptime, and arms staff with the tools to solve problems quickly and remotely. Features include dedicated wireless intrusion prevention with integrated spectrum and 802.11n analysis, 24x7 security and performance monitoring and remote troubleshooting, dynamic update technology and more.
