By - Source: Sphere3D

Sphere3D has adapted technologies available in the company's SnapServer and SnapScale Network Attached Storage (NAS) hardware to the cloud with the Sphere3D SnapCloud NAS Virtual Storage offering. Now available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, Sphere3D SnapCloud gives organizations the ability to seamlessly deploy and manage enterprise storage in cloud or hybrid cloud environments. Sphere3D SnapCloud, SnapServer and SnapScale storage products all use the company's GuardianOS, allowing admins to easily manage storage infrastructure across their organizations.

"We utilized an enterprise hardened storage OS to power the next generation of storage from the cloud," said Peter Tassiopoulos, president of Sphere 3D. "With the ability to centrally manage globally distributed deployments, a secure file sync and share capability across any device, and a seamless hybrid capability, we are set to deliver a value proposition to our customers that is unmatched in the industry."

Sphere3D SnapCloud enables customers to scale their enterprise storage capacity on demand, in minutes, with the ability to maintain compatibility with existing SnapScale and SnapServer on-premise storage infrastructure. Sphere3D SnapCloud customers pay only for the storage they need, with access available 24/7 from any device. Sphere3D's built-in Sync and Share capability automatically syncs data between mobile, desktop and enterprise repositories.

Sphere3D enables single-pane-of-glass management of hybrid cloud deployments made up of any combination of SnapScale, SnapServer and SnapCloud storage through the Sphere3D Snap Storage Manager.

SnapCloud offers enhanced data protection with the ability for admins to create storage snapshots and utilize change-based replication for disaster recovery. SnapCloud supports unified SAN/NAS deployments with NFS LDAP authentication and Active Directory integration that includes support for Active Directory groups.

Sphere3D SnapCloud is available immediately in the Azure Marketplace.
