What's really cool about Violin's WFA is that it doesn't rely on SSDs. Instead, the solution is composed of Violin Intelligent Memory Modules (VIMM) which are integrated into the array's architecture and designed from the ground-up. This offers some unique advantages over all-flash arrays that utilize SSDs or PCIe cards.
