EMC launched the Storage Resource Management (SRM) suite as an application-to-storage management offering.
The product combines the company's ProSphere, Storage Configuration Advisor, as well as Watch4net in one monitoring and reporting package that targets performance, capacity and configuration management applications.
According to the company, SRM enables real-time reporting and visualization of resources and performance dependencies from the application to the host down to the storage array. Users can analyze storage workload trends, manage and respond to service-level deviations, as well as monitor application performance via trending and threshold notifications.
EMC said that the SRM Suite can be used with both EMC as well as third-party storage arrays. The software is available now from EMC directly as well as through the company's channel partners. Pricing was not announced.
