Amazon ECS Gets Comprehensive Monitoring Solution From Sysdig
IT teams using container technologies like Docker and CoreOS already know about some of the great benefits that they bring to their environments. Using containers, it's easier to create, deploy and scale their web applications than ever before. However, due to the application isolation that containers offer, and as containers proliferate through an organization, it can be easy to lose track of everything that is running inside of every container in your environment.
Sysdig is a container-native visibility company that has built a comprehensive monitoring solution for bringing microservices and containers together into a single pane of glass. Today at Amazon AWS re:Invent 2015, Sysdig announced compatibility and support for Amazon's EC2 Container Service (ECS) in Sysdig Cloud.
ContainerVision is the container-native monitoring service available with Sysdig Cloud. ContainerVision peers into containers running on Amazon ECS to identify specifics about the container and the application running inside it while still keeping the containers isolated.
"Like many leaders in the market, Amazon continues to invest heavily in a container-driven future for cloud computing. Here at Sysdig, we're excited to support this vision and the thousands of companies making the move to containers and microservices," said Loris Degioanni, CEO and founder of Sysdig. "No other monitoring technology can come close to the level of visibility into AWS and ECS that Sysdig can offer with ContainerVision."
Sysdig Cloud doesn't just look at the applications running inside the container to get information. Metadata about the containers is brought in from Amazon ECS to provide a more complete picture of what is going on in the containers.
Sysdig Cloud is available, just as you may have suspected, in a container. All that is required for setup is to add Sysdig Cloud container into your Amazon ECS environment. From there, ContainerVision takes off, bringing back details from across all containers in the ECS environment.
Sysdig Cloud has a free trial of its software if you're interested. And if you're at Amazon AWS re:Invent this week, then you'll want to stop by and see a demonstration of Sysdig Cloud and ContainerVision in action.
