Tenda Introduces Nine-Port Desktop Switch With Four PoE Ports

By - Source: Toms IT Pro

Tenda’s TEG1009P, an 8+1 port gigabit switch, hit the American market today. The TEG1009P features easy installation, setup, and flexibility with its four included Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports.

The Tenda TEG1009P has nine 10/100/1000 GE Base-T gigabit Ethernet ports, which carry an 802.3az standard and support layer 2 wire-speed forwarding. Ports 1 through 4 are PoE ports supporting four 802.3af or two 802.3at ports. The final uplink port features a lightning-resistant circuit and 2-level lightning protection in the event of a power surge.

The four PoE ports not only carry 802.3af and 802.3at standards, they also provide power to devices connected via these ports. Tenda included both magnetic feet and mounting holes at the bottom of the TEG1009P, allowing for easy installation anywhere. The TEG1009P is capable of supplying power to devices up to 150 meters away using Cat 5e. Convenient installation, power delivery through PoE, and a range of up to 150 meters makes the TEG1009P ideal for networks requiring a large range of coverage, such as an IP camera setup or multiple access points.

The Tenda TEG1009P 9 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch is currently available through ASI, Amazon, Newegg and authorized online distributors.
