Tyan Servers, Motherboards Add Support For Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v4 Family

Tyan, a subsidiary of MITAC Computing Technology Corporation, announced several new products that offer support for Intel’s Xeon processor E5-2600 v4 product family.

By supporting these technologies on several products, Tyan can offer the improvements inherent in the new processor family to customers that use its servers and motherboards.

"TYAN's Dual-Socket Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4-based platforms are now capable of offering up to 44 cores and 88 threads per motherboard along with 1.5TB of DDR4-2400 memory speed, which enables enterprise and datacenter customers to benefit from the latest advances in cloud computing, HPC, and storage applications," said Albert Mu, Vice President of MITAC Computing Technology Corporation's TYAN Business Unit.

A variety of models were announced, each with several configurations for various server and motherboard needs.

There are three new models of HPC Severs. These include the FT77C-B7079, a 4U dual socket solution with support for up to 8 Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor modules, as well as a 2U version (TA80-B7071) and 1U version (GA80B7081) that support four and three Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor modules, respectively.

In the CSP Storage Server category, there are four new models, including the FT48A-B7070, which is a 4U dual-socket platform that supports up to 8x LFF and 8x SFF drives. Other models include the GF83-B7074, GT62B-B7076, and GT86A-B7083, all of which are 1U dual-socket platforms.

There are three new models of General Purpose Servers in the GT24B-B7076, GN70-B7086, and GT56-B708, each a 1U dual-socket platform supporting 4x LFF drives, 8x LFF drives, and 10x SFF drives, respectively.

Finally, there are six new Server/Workstation motherboards ranging from 8 to 24 DDR4 DIMM slots and dual or single sockets, depending upon configuration.
