Veeam To Launch New Training and Certification Program

By - Source: Toms IT Pro

Veeam announced last week that it is launching a new certification program to educate and certify systems engineers and pre-sales engineers who are part of Veeams's reseller network.

Veeam will be launching its new Veeam Certified Engineers (VMCE) technical training and certification program in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa in January 2014. The certification will show that the certified engineer has the expertise to effectively implement and configure Veeam's Backup and Replication software, validating the experience and knowledge of the engineer as a Veeam Expert.

Training will be provided as a three day live training session or, for those who can't to attend live classes, Veeam is testing a video on demand learning module in the U.S. The instructor led courses will be offered through Veeam's ProPartners reseller network.

Through lecture and hands-on course work, and a curriculum designed by Veeam, students will gain technical competency. Students will also have access to a lab to gain hands-on experience by working with configurations based on customer situations.

As the final step for certification, VMCE candidates will have to pass a proctored exam. Veeam expects between 1,000 - 2,000 engineers will become certified during 2014.

"Our new training and certification programs will create a more empowered and enabled channel and end-user ecosystem," said Ratmir Timashev, CEO at Veeam Software. "We expect our ProPartners to see growth in revenue as these certified Veeam experts become more engaged, motivated and knowledgeable. This training will support our partners' ability to offer additional services to their customers and establish an extra revenue stream, while also offering a higher level of support to their customers." Timashev goes on to say, "as a channel-centric organization, our regional teams will work alongside our partner community to help them take advantage of the hot growth opportunities Modern Data Protection is creating in the enterprise market."
