ViewSonic Smart Display: Android Powered & Citrix Ready

By - Source: Toms IT Pro

Who says pretty can't be smart? This affordable 24-inch Smart Display offers form along with function. ViewSonic was first to the market with their Android based display in 2012 and their 2013 offering, the VSD241, is just a step away from a tablet PC.

Save for the fact that it has no physical storage capabilities, the VSD241 offers some low-level computing functionality: web-browsing, social networking and cloud computing.  But, if needed, it can still function as an everyday display by connecting to your external devices.

For IT, the VSD241 is Citrix-certified and can be used as a thin client device to connect to remote applications and desktops -- such as XenApp and Xen Desktop -- using the Citrix Receiver app available from Google Play.

Complete with full Google GMS certification, this IPS panel features a NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.7 GHz processor and a quad-core ARM-based SoC (which runs the preloaded Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS). The VSD241 delivers full HD 1920x1080 resolution with Dual Point Optical Touch technology.  Additional features include:
