Julio Urquidi, Tom's IT Pro's Technical Editor and a veteran IT professional, is making the rounds at VMworld 2012 this week. Taking place in San Francisco, the trade show is the conference to attend to discover the latest in virtualization and cloud computing technologies. Yesterday, while meeting with vendors on the exhibit floor, Julio started chatting with vKernel about Tom’s IT Pro when he was asked to take part in a podcast. He happily obliged. In the podcast (see below), Julio discusses one of the main differentiators of Tom's IT Pro, our intention to provide hands-on techs with insight into aspects of IT they usually aren't exposed to when ensconced behind they’re individual cubicle walls. Julio also comments on what he thought was the a big take-away from the keynotes, and addresses VMware's show announcement that its Mobile Virtual Phone (MVP) platform, Horizon Mobile, will soon become available for iOS devices. Currently, MVP works with select Android mobile device models. As for what vendors Julio plans to visit during the remainder of VMworld: Well, there's a couple of hundred booths to check out; chief among them, VMware, who's show presences can't be missed, of course.
