NEC Intros Communication Servers for SMB & Enterprise

NEC Corporation launched a new line of communication servers lat week, the Univerge SV9000 series. There are three models in this lineup that address a wide range of users: the SV9100, SV9300, and SV9500 platforms. All three are now available through NEC's regional offices.

For starters, the Univerge SV9100 is an all-in-one unified communications solution for small and medium-sized businesses. The company reports that this solution is easily configurable, and provides a user-friendly management interface that streamlines system administration. The SV9100 also has a versatile, modular architecture that works as an IP system, a digital system or a combination of both. This solution supports up to 800 employees.

Next is the Univerge SV9300, which is ideal for medium-sized businesses. According to the company, it easily integrates with existing IT technology, and like the SV9100, provides a user-friendly management interface that streamlines system administration. The SV9300 includes a simplified user licensing structure, a wide range of devices and mobility applications, a large number of endpoints, and more. This solution can expand up to 1,500 workstations.

Finally there's the Univerge SV9500, built for larger enterprises and geographically distributed businesses. This solution provides simplified user licensing, a contact center suite, a system capacity of up to 4,000 IP stations per system, support for virtualization, and multi-carrier SIP support. This solution can be ready to go if customers choose the pre-packaged server option with the software already installed. "The new SV9000 series continues NEC's trend of creating a natural migration path for customers, while evolving the technology to meet the needs of today’s businesses."

In addition to the Univerge SV9000 series launch, NEC Corporation introduced two new terminals, the DT800 series of IP phones and the DT400 series of digital phones. Also new is the UT880, a phone that combines the traditional desktop phone with a seven inch tablet. The UT880 touch-based phone includes four-finger input, a built-in camera for video conferencing, and Android support, which means that applications can be developed for this device.
